From a stable childhood in a middle-class neighborhood in Maryland, provided by his role model entrepreneurial father and home-making mother, to unceremoniously being thrust into financial insecurity and officially being labeled “poor,” Marcel found himself with few options.

Ultimately turning to the streets in the sketchy neighborhoods of Philadelphia as a way to make quick cash, after one too many close calls with the law, he decided enough was enough. While being a citizen of the streets is objectively an unlikely place for a young man to learn the cornerstones of business and entrepreneurship, that’s precisely what Marcel did.

In full embodiment of the statement, “It’s not where you come from, it’s where you’re going,” Marcel turned his entire life around. Equipped with sales, marketing, and communication skills, as well as the capacity to operate strategically, and think critically in a high-risk environment, the sky became the limit when he graduated from the streets to the boardroom.
